Chartham Water Well Installation.
Borehole Driller is proud and pleased to announce the completion of a water well for Chartham's Youth Gardens situated on Shalmsford Street, Nr Canterbury, Kent.
We were approached by Simon Hickman, the principal Gardener for the Youth Project. He explained that although Network Rail had kindly leased the land to the project, there was no water supply and last year's hot summer caused significant problems.
In March 2011 Borehole Driller donated their services along with the well casing and borehole pump to ensure that this youth project gets the kick start that it deserves.
The project now has all the water it needs to ensure a great crop this year. Water from a borehole has no restrictions on use and can even be used if a drought order or hose pipe ban is enforced by the water companies.

As you know the Chartham Youth Gardens is a fledgling effort to enable the youth from our village to use their energy growing vegatables and fruit for themselves and their families. You met our patron Rev. Phil Brown and you join a small group of supporters of the gardens starting with Network Rail who generously lease the land to us, and donors of a rotovator and other gardening equipment.
However your generous provision of your time and your expert services in drilling and equipping the borehole will be a major influence in our community project, for which a water supply is essential for its success.
I wish to emphasise my appreciation for your expertise that was so very apparent in efficiently drilling the borehole, placing the slotted casing and gravel pack with the bentonite seal, and then placing the pump and well head to national standards.
We shall count on you and Gary as friends of the gardens and as a small token of our appreciation we enclose a CD of a series of photographs of your work culminating in the Borehole-Driller Borehole.
